How to Stay Young Forever

From the moment of your birth, you start learning that aging is a part of life. We see people getting older and think we will also age little by little. But science constantly proves that we can slow the aging process and make it more bearable. Even without the help of science, we can do things that prevent aging and help us stay younger for many years.

  • If you smoke, kick the nasty habit. It has absolutely no advantage and only damages your health. Your skin gets wrinkled and yellowish, and it exposes you lungs to serious illnesses—not to mention increased blood pressure.
  • Include fatty acids in your diet to maintain your cells’ flexible and keep your nervous and circulatory systems healthy. Eat fish at least once or twice a week for a sufficient intake of Omega-3, Omega-6 and DHA. You skin will look better and your brain will function smoothly—two common signs of youth.

  • Exercise and keep your weight under control. Don’t grow too fat or too skinny. Your body needs a certain amount of calories to function correctly, so don’t starve yourself with drastic diets. But don’t eat too much, either. A fat body will put pressure on the bones and increase your risk of heart attack. Your body should be well proportioned.
  • Free radicals damage the cells in your body and cause aging. The good news? You can fight free radicals by including vegetables in your diet, especially those that contain antioxidants such as beta-carotene. Antioxidants protect cells and help your body stay younger and illness free for longer.
  • Keep you heart in shape with cardiovascular exercise. A healthy heart also means lower blood pressure and better blood circulation.
  • Train you muscles. Old people often don’t have the power to do anything anymore. Prevent that by constantly doing exercises for your muscles, such as weight training. Working your muscles also means keeping strong bones.
  • Practice you balance by doing yoga, for example. This good form of stress relief also helps keep your body and mind in touch.
  • Scientific studies show if you exercise your brain, it won’t deteriorate. Many very old people remain funny, lucid, coherent and so on. In other words, they have the mind of a young person. The secret? Never let your mind rest. Do puzzles, read books and newspapers, do crosswords, have interesting conversations with your friends, etc.. Find activities you enjoy that challenge your brain.
  • They say age is not in your body but rather in your head. Keep dancing, traveling, learning and everything else you like doing. Don’t think about getting older; think about how much you enjoy life and don’t give up your passions.
