The users of your Ruby on Rail application must be redirected to the right port because Ruby on Rail operates on its own server. Ruby cannot operate on a standard HTTP port number therefore you must determine the port the of the domain.
Ruby on Rail application will be given a higher number if you are using shred hosting. If you want to configure a Ruby on Rail without having to specify the port number, it is necessary to create a rewrite.
If you want to rewrite a Ruby on Rail application, follow the instructions below:
Procedure:
- On the homepage of your cPanel, click on Ruby on Rail under Software/Services.
- Click the Create Rewrite button.
- Select a domain from the drop down menu on which you want to run the Ruby on Rail application.
- When you are done, click on the Save button.
By following the instructions above, you will be able to create a rewrite of the Ruby on Rail in cPanel.
