How to Make Charcoal Grills

Sometimes it is a fun way of taking control of the backyards and crowds it with friends and families. One way of enjoying the company and the place is making grilled foods. There are a lot of portable grills that are sold in stores however, having it fixed on the backyard makes a cozier atmosphere. And it is a lot cheaper and more fun to build, just by heading to an expert grill website you can pretty much find everything you need to know about setting it up. Grilling in charcoals is a lot different than those foods grilled using propane and somehow, portable metal grills do not last long as compared to using bricks.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Shovel
  • bricks
  • charcoals
  • grilling gate
  • lighter

INSTRUCTIONS

  • After you have picked the perfect area for the grill, take the shovel and dig about six inches deep to the ground. The area of the grill will depend on how much space you need or how much space is available on your backyard. However, we can start with twelve square foot area or say 4ft x 3ft.
  • Assemble the bricks inside of the hole that was dug and continue placing the bricks moving them around the hole once you have reached the top of the ground. As you lay the bricks around the area, make sure to create gaps in between the bricks to generate airflow inside the area where the charcoals will be placed so that enough oxygen will flow through to ensure a continuing heat. Continue laying the bricks on top of each other to the height most comfortable to you. Three feet is just about enough but you can go lower or higher. However, setting it too low can give you back pain in the long run while a much higher grill will hinder you from seeing the grilled foods and you can end up not cooking it right.
  • Get the charcoals and place them on the pit. Get also the lighter to start burning the charcoals. Once you have created enough heat or fire, place the grilling gate and you can start grilling your food now.Grilling at your own backyard makes a more entertaining past time and it is just a fun way of spending time with friends and families.
