  • Carefully observe your menstrual cycle- In a regular 28-day menstrual cycle, ovulation typically occurs 14-days after the first day of menstruation.  By carefully analyzing your menstrual cycle, you can easily predict the time when your chances of getting pregnant are the highest. If your menstrual cycle is regular, then the effectiveness of this method is unquestionable. However, this calculation won’t work, if your menstrual cycle is irregular and unpredictable.
  • Monitor changes in the cervical mucus- The cervical mucus in the beginning of the menstrual cycle is sticky, dense and scanty. Just before ovulation, it becomes thin, slimy and plentiful to facilitate the movement of sperms. By inserting two fingers into your cervix, you can easily detect whether you are ovulating or not. If the cervix is dry and firm, then it means that you haven’t ovulated as yet.
  • Detect alterations in your endocrine system- Just before ovulation, the hormones rush forward to prepare your body for pregnancy. By detecting any alterations in your hormonal system, with the aid of an ovulation monitoring kit, you can efficiently predict whether the ovulation has taken place or not.
  • Adopt a healthy lifestyle- By adopting a healthy way of life, you can drastically increase your chances of getting pregnant. Exercise regularly, keep stress and strain under control, and eat a well-balanced diet. Additionally, stop smoking, quit caffeine and sleep properly, at least for 7 to 8 hours.
  • If unsuccessful, use the last option- If none of the above methods work for you, Assisted Reproductive Therapy (ART) is the only option left for you. In this method, the eggs will be removed form your body and fertilized with your husband’s sperms in an artificial environment. Thereafter, the fertilized egg will be transplanted in your body for further development.
