How to Use Anti-Aging Cream

Both men and women hate to show their age, and wrinkles are a clear sign the aging process has begun. You can find many anti-aging treatments and creams on the market, and new products appear every day because of the high demand. However, not all anti-aging products work as well as promised in TV commercials or on the label. Choosing the right anti-aging cream for your skin type and skin problems, as well as knowing how to use it, prove essential for getting good results. Avoid buying anti-aging creams just because of the brand. Analyze the labels and choose products that have natural ingredients and address the problem you want to solve: wrinkles, dark spots, baggy eyes or simple prevention.

  • Exposure to the sun remains one of the worst enemies of skin. Even if the sun damage is not yet visible, over time prolonged exposure to the sun leads to premature aging of the skin and the formation of wrinkles, especially on the face and hands. Choose an anti-aging cream that has a sunscreen with a SPF of 15 or higher.

  • Look for vitamins in the anti-aging creams you purchase. The most important vitamins for young skin are vitamin C, vitamin E and vitamin A. These anti-oxidants repair sun-damaged skin and trigger the production of collagen and elastin. You could also benefit from applying a capsule of pure vitamin E to the skin every once in a while.
  • Your anti-aging cream should also contain zinc, peptides, keratin and anti-oxidants. These all fight against the aging of the skin and, if used regularly, your face will look smoother and younger.
  • A high-priced product does not necessarily mean better results. Some anti-aging creams are expensive just because they famous brands produce them and provide a lot of advertising. Let the list of ingredients rather than the price list guide your decision. Sometimes the products at your local drugstore have fewer chemicals and more natural ingredients; thus, they prove more effective.
  • Go to a dermatologist and discuss your skin type and the products you should use. The dermatologist can run some tests, analyze your lifestyle and recommend the anti-aging products that best suit your skin. You can also prepare some anti-aging products at home, using natural ingredients such as raw eggs, olive oil and honey.
  • No matter how good the anti-aging product, if you don’t use it consistently over a long period of time, you won’t get results. Apply the anti-aging cream every day, even when traveling. Massage the cream into the skin with circular movements.
  • Watch your diet. Eat a lot of fruit and vegetables to get a lot of vitamins into your body. Also consider getting some vitamin C and vitamin E supplements.  Exercise and take some yoga or dancing classes. This will help you unwind and stimulate circulation, helping your skin stay young.
