How to Transition your Child from taking Baths to Shower


As the children grow old they should be able to take showers. You cannot make a child to shower instantaneously. Children feel it a great fun in bathing for hours in the bath pool. There are many steps that you should keep in your mind for the transition of your child from taking baths to showers with a brand new teak shower stool. These are the following

  • You should not make your child go in the shower suddenly. Give the child, time to manage him for the new environment. You should make the child homely to shower water.

  • You may decorate the bathroom with things that may be fascinating to your child. You can paint his favorite cartoon on the wall. You can place different types of toys. You can paint the bathroom with his favorite color. You should do everything to make the bathroom an amusing place for him.
  • Take the child with you in the shower and show him the process so that he may be able to do it afterwards. The more you show him the procedure of taking shower, the more he will learn.
  • Do not put him under water abruptly. First, make him take his hand into the falling water. Then make him take his back in the water. If the child is at home, carry on the process. If the child has become uncomfortable, stop right here.
  • When the child is not feeling restless, bring him under water. Do not leave him alone. This learning procedure may move on from 2/3 weeks. Then the child settles down.
  • You should teach the child properly of the ways of using shampoo, and soaping the body. You may also tell him that he is a big guy now so he should not bathe in a bathing pool. It is for small children.
  • Now, you should encourage him day by day. It is very helpful for the learning process of the child. Do tell him that he is going well when he does all the things properly.
  • You must be with him to avoid any unusual thing. Moreover there must be rubber pads in the bathroom to avoid any injury that may occur due to the slipping of the child.

As a parent it is your responsibility that you take significant steps for the learning process of your children. This transition from bathing pools to showers is necessary for any child. You can easily do this by the method described above. It will be really helpful for you to accomplish the task.
