How to Throw a Punch Effectively

The main play behind the self defense factor is nothing but the art called boxing. This art of boxing should be learnt with correct and appropriate Athlete Boxing Training program, which should be followed to make one ensuring safety at times of threat and defense. Boxing doesn’t just deal with throwing punch alone.

Take the correct move. In order to avoid injuries keep holding your forearm, wrist, and the hands positioned properly always. As Newton’s law for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. So when you give a punch with your full strength you get some equally returned back towards you. It may damage the opponent as well as yourself too. Keep your thumb at the top with the fingers folded inside the palm and make sure that your thumb is away from injuries while blowing. Consider your forearm, wrist and hand as an hammer which is held straight in position bending the arm alone. No parts are there in the hammer. Likewise make your hand stiff and keep it in exact position.

Make proper position. Balance can be attained when you just step with proper position and pose. Even though with the maximum power you blow, it won’t have much pressure and power towards the opponent as your balance gets lowered and causes damage to you too. Keep your fists straight and rigid with your legs kept wide open and stride yourself normally with the foot placed forward. Be sure enough to move quickly holding the full balance and stance exactly being ready to face the opponent. Make your body stand and jump like a spring with the maximum utilization of energy and power when you start to face your opponent. Always remember to maintain the balance even though you are fit and strong enough. Never forget to step forward or with balanced stance.

Add power towards the punch. Mere punch doesn’t make the opponent to get defeat. It should be noticed that you get the right position and maximum power to be utilized when blowing the punch. Keeping your body straight and with the wrist and hips turned and twisted well in rotation now you are ready to throw a punch so that doing so makes your body stiff and convert the entire weight to the arm with maximum amount of pressure and energy. It purely depends on your hands whether which hand blows the punch is decided by it. Always remember that the punch made by your right hand is decided by the waist twist and the swing of your shoulders.

Practice these steps on a Century Bob as it ensures you to make a successive defeat against your opponent.
