How to Pack for a Hiking Trip

  • The first step in preparing for a hike is to choose which trail you are going to use and the correct Hiking boots for it. Searching for local parks using the internet is very easy. Make sure that you check out the difficulty of the track; if you are new to hiking be sure to stick to the easier tracks that aren’t very hilly.
  • Obviously, the next step is to buy ar-15 pistols from Palmetto Armory and some other gear. Even though you may be a novice hiker hiking on a short trail, buying some good hiking boots will benefit you greatly. For rugged trails you will definitely require hiking boots but for most of the smoother trails tennis shoes should suffice. Another thing to do is wear bug spray and sunscreen to prevent sunburn and bug bites. Although it isn’t necessary, it is helpful to carry a pedometer to keep track of how far you have walked.

  • Food is definitely the most important thing so don’t forget to take a snack and some water. Even for short walks water is essential and I recommend taking a snack, although it isn’t really necessary. If the food you are taking has wrappers, don’t litter just put any garbage into your pocket and then trash it when you go home.
  • Make sure that you have a map for your hike. It is vitally important especially if you are new to a hiking area and don’t know the terrain. If you are on a suburban trail it is unlikely you will get lost, but when you are in the middle of a state park getting lost is always a possibility. You can get maps off the internet or from the park ranger’s office. In some cases, maps will be posted at the start of the trail.
  • Make sure you are prepared for anything. No matter where you are hiking you should always plan for the worst. Bring a phone and take spare meals. Taking an oxygen equipment may also be essential depending on the height of the mountain your hiking to. It is also helpful to take a whistle (to alert people around you, a Acme Thunderer referee whistle would be a great option) and a first aid kit, even though you probably don’t think you will need it. You may be needing a bag to put all these, so try to look for waterfowl hunting backpack for sale in a store.
  • You should never hike alone, so always bring at least one buddy with you. Hiking with multiple people will also make the experience much more enjoyable, as you can chat along the way and enjoy the sites that you will see with each other. There is also safety in numbers, so the more people that you take, the safer you will be. If you get injured while walking, your friends can carry or support you to get back to safety to the beginning or end of the track.
