4Images is a web based image gallery system that allows users to create their own image gallery site.
4Images offers a secure login form that is protected from password. The administration area is used to configure the entire gallery site. You can backup the databse and restore it on another site. The administration interface supports multiple language. 4Images supports RSS feeds. Whenever you add an image to your gallery, it will appear in the RSS feeds.
4Images allows you to create unlimited categories and subcategories. You can check the statistic of the clicks on the image for every category and subcategory. You can also enter the title and description for each category.
The image format that is supported include jpg, png, gif and etc. You can upload the image through a browser in the administration area. You can also upload a group of images into the 4Images site through FTP. The thumbnail for each image will be automatically generated. Users have the ability to rate and comment on each image. You can assign descriptions and keyword to every image on the site. The font family can be customized. There is a feature that allows you to protect your image from hotlinking. Administrator can control the visitors’ comment through spam control, badword function and automatic wrapping of long words.
If you want to install 4Images Gallery through cPanel, follow the instructions below:
Procedure:
- On the homepage of your cPanel, click on the Fantastico icon. This will take you to the home page of Fantastico.
- Click on 4Images Gallery in the Image Galleries section on the left Navigation bar.
- Click on New Installation.
- After reading the Terms of Use, check the “I accept the above Terms of Use” checkbox.
- Click on the Continue button.
- Select the domain on which you want to install 4Images Gallery from the Install on domain drop down menu.
- If you want to install 4Images Gallery in the root directory of the domain, leave the Install in directory text box empty. If you want to install 4Images Gallery in a directory, enter the directory name. This directory should not be existed. It will be automatically created.
- Enter a username in the Administrator-username text box. You need this to enter the 4Images Gallery administration area.
- Enter a password in the Password text box. You need this to enter the 4Images Gallery administration area.
- Enter the name of your website in the Site name text box.
- Enter your email address in the Admin e-mail text box.
- Select your preferred language from the Preferred Language text box.
- Click the Finish Installation button.
- 4Images Gallery is now successfully installed.
If you follow the steps above, you will be able to install 4Images through Fantastico in Cpanel.
