The simplest way to prepare corn dogs is from the frozen packets available in the market. These packets come with their own instructions and can be easily cooked in your oven, microwave or frying pan. Sometimes, it may happen that you misplace the instructions or you want to learn the method once and for all. You have come to the right place!
There are a number of brands available in the markets that sell frozen corn dogs. No matter which brand you go in for, you should always check the expiry date. The fresher it is the better it is for you. Like we follow for most frozen stuff, heat the corn dogs to at least a temperature of 160 degrees to ensure the safety of you and your family.
INSTRUCTIONS
Oven
- Set the oven to 375 degrees F to preheat it.
- Remove the frozen corn dogs from the packet.
- Lay out the desired quantity on a foil or sheet used for baking.
- Keep the sheet in the middle of the oven.
- Cook for approx 15-20 minutes.
Microwave
- Remove the corn dogs from the package.
- Roll them in paper.
- Keep in microwave.
- Generally we set the microwave for 70 seconds per dog. For additional corn dogs, you can set it to around 30-40 seconds extra per dog. This is an approximate figure and you will have to check in between to make sure whether it has cooked or not.
Fryer
- If you have a deep fryer, like the one used by the fast food chains, you can fry the corn dogs in it. Though it is less healthy as compared to the oven or the microwave, it tastes the way it was meant to be!
- Like the oven, this has to be preheated to approx 350 degrees F.
- Take out corn dogs from the packing.
- Keep the corn dogs in the oil. You also have to ensure that the corn dog sticks do not dip into oil. Otherwise, it will not be a pleasurable eating experience.
- After removing, you can place the corn dogs on paper so that the extra oil drains out.
