How to Boil Chicken


Are you a chicken lover, are in a situation to cook it by yourself then follow this article which will help you doing so. There are different types of cooking chicken, boiling is the easiest and probably the tastiest way of cooking it. By virtue of boiling chicken, you are making it tender and can be easily shredded; chicken can be boiled using various methods, depending on the level or amount of chicken you are going to cook. Some prefer only the breast, some prefer the full chicken, some prefer only the leg etc. The type of boiling varies with it.

There are some ingredients and equipments that are required for the boiling of chicken. The ingredients that are required are salt, pepper, chicken, carrot, potatoes, celery, and olive oil. The equipments required are large platter, knife, and meat thermometer, and cold water, crock pot, stove.

Most of us would buy chicken in the frozen form and store it. Before using this frozen chicken you got to thaw it. It is basically the process of changing the frozen chicken into an ordinary form. This can be done by two methods, one is by using the cold water for thawing and the other is placing the chicken in the refrigerator. A full chicken take around 7 hours to get thawed, small pieces of chicken will take around only few hours. Another method of thawing is the cold water thawing. Fill a bowl with cold water, place the frozen chicken inside a plastic bag, and don’t allow the water in direct contact with the chicken piece. Replace the water regularly so that the water is continuously cold. The time required to thaw depends on the size of the chicken you use. Once the chicken is thawed, immediately start the boiling process.

Place the thawed chicken in a cig pot filled with cold water. Place the pot in the stove and start the boiling process by initiating the heating process. Don’t over heat the water (i.e. don’t allow the water to form bubbles. Keep the heat to a moderate level, the boiling process will take time according to the size of the chicken that you have chosen to boil. The internal temperature would be around 180 deg. Celsius. Along with the chicken and water, don’t forget to add the ingredients accordingly to the size of the chicken and desire of the people who are going to eat it (i.e. some would like more pepper and some would go for less pepper).

The boiling of chicken depends upon the presence of bones in it. If there are bones in it, the time required to boil would considerably increase. Chicken is indeed a good tasty food, if boiled in a better way.
