If the bandwidth of the network is shared by more number of people then the problem of slow process occurs. The speed of your connection will get reduced if a lot of users are connected with the same network.
  • Speed check. First, check the actual speed of your network. Undergo speed test in some sites which is having facility like that. Take your marketed speed of your broadband connection which your provider given. Then make a comparison with these values. It can be measured either in Kilobits or Megabits per second. Normally the speed of your broadband service will be less when compared to the marketed value.
  • Change IP address. If a subnet which you are connected in consists of many people there occurs slow down in connection. You can get a new subnet automatically if you change your IP address. To do this process, go to network settings and then look for the button “Renew DHCP Lease”.
  • The next problem may be the running of many background programs in your own system and so check for them. Sometimes, slowdowns occur due to your system itself. Sometime you may turn on automatic updates and hence check for them. If anything like that is enabled, first disable them. Those are the files which are getting downloaded at the background of your system automatically without your guidance or knowledge.
  • The reason may also due to the size of files which you are downloading. Once you turn those processes to off condition then your connection will automatically faster. If you have wireless network connection, then check for it carefully because culprits may hack your system easily in that case.
