Children Fighting

First of all try to find out what they are fighting about. If it is about a toy or some cookies, ask them to share it. If the owner refuses to do so, then plainly tell the child that nobody will share toys with him if he has this attitude. Children do not like to be left alone; they generally improve their behavior after hearing this. You can also offer substitute toys to the children telling them how interesting they are and how much they would enjoy playing with them.

If they are having an argument or are yelling at each other then tell them to calm down and ask them what caused such a scene. Listen to both sides of the story, let them talk.  It makes them feel important; it also makes them realize that the argument was actually over nothing. If however there is a problem, sit with them and ask them to suggest a solution. Make sure that both children agree to it. Under no circumstances, take sides with anyone, as it deeply hurts the other.

You as a parent or a teacher or as a nanny, influence your children. If you behave irrationally in front of them, they will do the same. Try to steer their minds away from violence. Explain that nature has gifted humans with brains so that they can think and reason. In time, you will see that everything will fall into place.
