How to Remove Body Acne

Body acne is not uncommon and can really be embarrassing. Not only does it look awful, but it can also be painful and uncomfortable. Like face acne, there are different types of severity. Milder cases can be easily treated with over-the-counter products. But for those who suffer from severe body acne, it is always advisable to consult a certified doctor.

Body acne is usually found on the back, shoulders, neck, chest and buttocks areas. This can be treated with the same treatment you use for face acne. If you are suffering from body acne, you may find some these tips as helpful in battling with this problem.

  • Take a shower once or twice a day, specifically in the morning and at night. Use a mild cleanser to wash your body. Some can contain irritants that can trigger your acne. Use warm water when you shower. Good hygiene is the first step in getting an acne-free body.

  • With an acne product that is right for you, apply it to the areas where there is acne. Make sure you let the cream dry first before putting on any clothes.
  • Choose clothing that will provide your skin some breathing space—preferably loose clothes that do not cling to the body. Tight clothes can make your skin irritated via the rubbing pressure and can also increase perspiration. All of this will only make your acne condition worse.
  • Make it a point to exfoliate your skin at least once a week. Use a gentle cleanser made for acne-prone skin and a soft sponge. Be sure to exfoliate in gentle, circular motions. Too much rubbing can cause irritation. You don’t want your skin to become irritated, for it can worsen the condition of your body acne.
  • Avoid stress. If a person is stressed it can lead to a breakout. If you think stress is causing your body acne problem, then avoid things that can get you stressed. Enroll in a yoga class or go to a gym. Such activities can lessen your stress. When a person is stressed, his or her body releases hormones that trigger the formation of pimples.
  • Maintain a healthy diet. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. Increase your water intake. Consumption of carbohydrates and sugars can cause many people to breakout.
  • If you have an acne treatment, be sure you are consistent in doing it. It may take a while for you to see some results, but be patient. In no time you will achieve acne-free skin if you stick to your treatments.
  • Consult a dermatologist. If you are suffering from severe acne, it is important that you see a dermatologist rather than treat the problem on your own. Your dermatologist will know what to prescribe to clear up your pimples.

Tips and Warning

  • The first step to good skin is good hygiene. Make sure you shower every day or even twice a day. If you just got in from the gym or from an activity that caused you to sweat, never skip taking a bath to remove the sweat and dirt that can build up to form pimples.
