How to Make an Impression on a First Date

He finally asked you out, and now you find yourself wondering, “What should we do on our first date?” Dates can be pretty nerve-wracking, especially if you’re going out with someone you really like. It’s time to make a positive impression so a first date turns into a second.

  • Be decisive. If he asked you out and asked you where you want to eat out, don’t answer with, “You decide.” Make a suggestion, but make sure the ambiance and food are great. It’s pleasant for a guy to know you know what you want. When a guy asks where you want to eat, he actually wants you to choose because he wants to make sure you will have a great time.

  • Dress the part. This can be critical for a woman going on a date. You probably will plan ahead what to wear, but bear in mind that you have to dress appropriately. If you’re going to a theme park, is it right to wear heels? If you’re going to a fine dining restaurant, would you want to wear sneakers? Dress appropriately for the occasion. Remember to just show just enough skin. This is to make him see just enough and make him wonder what’s left to see. Try to keep everything simple. Men are simple creatures and want some things, like how a woman dresses, simple as well. For more dress tips to impress for your first date, the LNO Greek online page is a good place to visit.
  • Be on time. This is not the time to make a grand entrance. No matter how much he is into you, he’ll be angry if you make him wait an hour. Make sure you arrive at your dating place on time. You can allot at least five minutes to keep your date waiting, but anything more than 15 minutes is too much!
  • Switch off your phone. Your date wants to spend time with you, and the least you can do is switch off your phone. If you can’t turn your phone off, at least keep it in silent mode. It’s rude to constantly disrupt the date with phone calls and text messages. This also shows your date he is special and he has your full attention.
  • Listen. When your date talks, listen. Dating is a chance to get to know the other person. And when he is talking about personal information about his life, it means he wants to share it with you.
  • Smile. Make your date feel like you’re having a good time. He likely will feel bad if the only reaction you offer is a blank stare and small grin. Smiling is a positive indication you are enjoying the date and his company.
