Every woman wants to have beautiful, healthy, shiny nails.Your nails are far more than just a sign of beauty. Your nails are also indicative of your overall health. If your nails are weak, discolored or have ridges, then that could be a sign of malnutrition or other health defects. There are ways you can improve your overall health and improve the look of your nails simultaneously. Here is how you can cure ridges in your fingernails and restore them to their beautiful state.

Procedure:

Step 1

Remember to protect your nails from chemicals when you can. Everyday chemicals can have a negative effect on the health of your nails. When you are working with harsh chemicals, cleaning products, or you engage in manual activities such as construction or gardening protect your nails by using gloves.

Step 2

Allow your nails to grow out. This is the best way to start anew and improve the condition and look of your nails. While your nails are growing out wear a protective coat of clear polish on them . This will help condition and nourture your nails.

Step 3

Use a little gentle treatment to help improve the conditions of your nails. Buff your nails. Buy a new emory board and use the fine end to gently start buffing the imperfections away. Be sure to work in one direction. Do not use a back and forth motion. Don’t bear down with too much pressure on the nail bed.

Step 4

Give yourself a little night time pampering. Before you go to bed every night, hydrate your nails. You should take care to do this several times a day. Use a hydrating and moisturizing lotion. You can use a pair of cotton gloves and give your nails a treatment while you are treating them.

Step 5

Consider taking vitamin supplements to help improve the condition of your nails. You need to make sure the vitamin contains iron, zinc and B-12. Some nail deficiencies are due to deficiencies in diet. You can improve your diet and also supplement to help remedy the problem. Foods high in iron like liver, broccoli and other vitamin rich foods are great options when using diet to improve your nail health.

Step 6

Remember not to use your nails as tools. Instead of opening bottle tabs, cleaning surfaces or other activities with the tips of your nails. These activities increase the chances of damaging, chipping and ruining the nails. Instead, use the fingertips instead of the nails themselves.
