Skype is a program that enables users to talk and also enable video with people all across the world. You call people from your computer. If you have a web cam you can video call them as well. It’s great to be able to see the person you’re talking to. Skype is free when you are calling another person who has a Skype account. You can also use Skype for business e-conferences. Instructions:

Step 1

Create a new Skype account. Log on and visit www.skype.com <http://www.skype.com> to do this.

Step 2

You can import your contacts from you emails once you log in to your account. This is easy. Use the add contacts feature. This is free of charge.

Step 3

When you are calling from you Skype account (via computer) to a telephone or cell phone, this is called Skype Out. You will need to add some funds to your account to make this kind of call. You can use your paypal or credit card to keep your funds up. You can add $10-$25 dollars at once. Rates will vary depending on the country you are calling. Skype automatically add the country prefix to the number now and the rates are pretty reasonable.

Step 4

You can also opt to use the Skype In feature. This allows you to purchase a number  in the country of your choice for about $30 per year. You can also pay $10 per month. This is great  if you have family or a business in another country that you don’t live in. This way, anyone who calls the number is not charged international phone rates, instead, it only costs the local rate. This is just another way that Skype adds to the convenience of keeping in touch with all of your friends, customers and business associates no matter where they are in the world.
