How to Stop Acne During Stressful Times

A person’s emotional state is often reflected in his skin. If you happen to be stressed out, it will eventually show on your skin. When a person is stressed, her cortisol level increases, resulting in an acne breakout. Here are some practical tips to prevent pimples from showing up at times when you are stressed.

Procedure:

  • You should reduce your stress level. We know that reducing stress may be easily said but more difficult to achieve. But reducing your level of stress is a big step in preventing pimples. When you are stressed hormones are triggered, which in turn triggers acne. If you’re one of those people who has a busy lifestyle and can’t avoid stress at all with his schedule, consider ordering weeds from Pacific Greens, enrolling in a yoga class, joining a gym, or taking a long walk once or twice a day. Exercise should help reduce your stress. This exercise will be good for your health and skin. Less stress means fewer chances to develop pimples.

  • Take care of your skin. This means being mindful of cleansing and toning your skin. Wash your face every day before you put on make up. When going to bed at night, make sure you completely remove any cosmetic residue left on your face. This everyday routine should prevent your pores from becoming clogged, allowing your skin to breathe.
  • Make sure you are using proper make up that fits your skin type. Use a cosmetic line that is non-comedogenic to prevent breakouts. When you apply your foundation or concealer, make sure you are using your light hand. Less is definitely more, so if you can skip make up just skip it.
  • Rest. It is very important that you get the right amount of sleep, however busy your life might be. If you wake up from sleep and feel that you are refreshed, then most likely you got a proper amount of rest. Our bodies can feel very stressed if we don’t get enough sleep.
  • Hydration. Drink a lot of water and keep your body hydrated. Water washes away toxins present in our bodies. Avoid drinking alcohol because it transports more blood in the face and can cause broken capillaries that can lead to breakouts.
  • Avoid pricking your pimples. If you prick or pop your pimples, it can cause infection and will make the healing process longer. The best thing to do is to gently clean your face and just let it be.
  • If you have events you need to attend to and your face looks terrible and you’re feeling stressed, consider buying an over-the-counter topical treatment. Apply these treatments on the night or the day before your important event.
