How to Know Why Men Don’t Call after a Date

Dates are casual ways to get to know someone. Even though there are a variety of things to do on a date, the most common dilemma of women who date is determining the guy’s feelings toward the date and her. After the date or the day after, a woman waits to see if the guy will call back or maybe ask her out again, but the waiting can be excruciating, especially if the woman is interested in the guy. The common question of these women is “Why men don’t call?” If the date was fun and exciting, what could the problem be?

  • Men prefer texting. Even if they practiced what they are going to say over the phone, chances are they might stutter in a phone conversation. Women are superior at live communication. Men prefer texting because they can edit what they have to say before they hit the Send button. If he sent you a text message, a second date may be possible.

  • He keeps his cool. Calling you abruptly after the date might make it appear as though he is too excited. Even if he wants to date you again, chances are he will wait no more than 48 hours to contact you. That is enough time for him to prepare what he has to say without looking too anxious.
  • He’s busy. Believe it or not, this is a common yet very true reason. Yes, he enjoyed the date. But he has a job! He’s probably assuming you are busy with work, too. If he has a busy lifestyle or demanding job, expect he won’t call you anytime soon. If he’s a gentleman and likes you, when he does call he will apologize for the time it took for him to call you back. Men like to keep their lives active, and when they do they tend to forget things; that’s probably why he didn’t call you right away.
  • He’s not ready. Men see dates like fishing: they want to keep their options open so they can explore the different fishes in the sea. Yes, it may seem unfair to you if you really want to get in a relationship, but before going on a date, remind yourself not to expect too much. Go ahead and just enjoy! You’ll miss out on the fun if you expect too much from it, so take it one date at a time.
