How to Install PHP-Nuke through Cpanel


PHP-Nuke is an open source Content Management system. PHP-Nuke is written in PHP. It is based on MySQL database. It is licensed under GNU General Public License. The original version of PHP-Nuke is free and available for everyone to use. However, if users want to use PHP-Nuke version 7.5, they have to buy it. The GNU GPL license allows this and buyer can freely distribute the program to other people. Beginning with Mambo version 5.6, users are required to display the copyright information on a webpage as required by the GPL license.

PHP-Nuke offers many features. Administrators can easily place ads on the page layout through the advertising system. You can also write a FAQ page and manage it through PHP-Nuke. PHP-Nuke has a feedback form where visitors can leave a feedback to the webmaster. PHP Nuke can be used to build a forum site. The Journal module allows users to write public/private notes. PHP-Nuke has a Recommend Us feature which visitors can recommend your website to others. The search feature allows users to search for information on your website. You can also view a detailed statistic of the visitors to your website.

If you want to install PHP-Nuke through cPanel, follow the instructions below:

Procedure:

1.  On the homepage of your cPanel, click on the Fantastico icon. This will take you to the home page of Fantastico.

2.  Click on PHP-Nuke in the Content Management section on the left Navigation bar.

3.  Click on New Installation.

4.  Select the domain on which you want to install PHP-Nuke from the Install on domain drop down menu

5.  If you want to install PHP-Nuke in the root directory of the domain, leave the Install in directory text box empty. If you want to install PHP-Nuke in a directory, enter the directory name. This directory should not be existed. It will be automatically created.

6.  Enter a username in the Administrator-username text box. You need this to enter the PHP-Nuke administration area.

7.  Enter a password in the Password text box. You need this to enter the PHP-Nuke administration area.

8.  Enter a name for your website in the Site name text box.

9.  Enter a slogan for your website in the Your site’s slogan text box.

10. Enter the date you launch your website in the Start date of the site text box.

11. Enter the site’s contact email address in the Admin e-mail text box. All PHP-Nuke notifications will be sent to this email address.

12. Set the number of stories to display on the main page and Old Articles Box. By default it is set at 10.
13. Enter the copyright information in the Footer text box.

14. When you are done, click the Install PHP-Nuke button.

15. Click the Finish Installation button.

16. PHP-Nuke is now successfully installed.

If you follow the guidelines above, you will be able to install PHP-Nuke on your website.
