How to Get Rid of Arthritis with Home Remedies

Arthritis, a medical condition that affects the joints, makes them stiff, inflamed and painful. Patients with arthritis have a difficult time moving, and their symptoms get worse over time. Though you can find arthritis medication available, it sometimes has side-effects and it is not always very effective. If you suffer from arthritis and want to treat it without medication, discuss your options with your doctor first to make sure you can safely take other treatments.

1. Drink raw potato juice. One of the most effective natural treatments for rheumatic and arthritic conditions, you can prepare the potato juice at home. Take a potato, don’t peel the skin, and cut it into thin slices. Fill a glass with cold water and place the potato slices in it. Leave it to rest overnight and drink the juice first thing in the morning before eating anything else.

2. Other raw juices can also help treat your arthritis. Prepare a raw green juice from a mixture of carrot, celery and red beet. Drink a cup of raw juice every morning on an empty stomach. Tastier juices that will help treat inflamed joints include pineapple juice. Also drink it raw and fresh in the morning.

3. Prepare a sesame seed juice. Follow a procedure similar to the one for preparing potato juice. Get some black sesame seeds from your local health food store and put one teaspoon of seeds in a glass of water overnight. Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach. Alternate juices from time to time to get the best results from each of them.

4. Take fish oil supplements or ingest a teaspoon of fish oil every day. Some arthritis patients have had successful result with the fish oil therapy. Ensure you ask your doctor first if the fish oil supplements will interact with your other medication.

5. Exercise every day. You don’t have to engage in difficult physical exercises, but move your joints for 20 or 30 minutes to avoid stiffness and stop the progression of arthritis. You can take a walk in the park, take up jogging if you feel strong enough, or lift some light weights every day. Studies show weight lifting proves beneficial for arthritis patients. Whatever physical exercising routine you choose, ensure your stretch before starting it to avoid unnecessary injury.

6. Relax as much as possible. Listen to relaxing music, take long warm baths and enjoy time with friends and family. If you keep yourself relaxed and happy, your pain will get better.

7. Try acupuncture. Find a qualified acupuncturist in your area and discuss a treatment plan. Acupuncture, an ancient Chinese medical technique, involves sticking thin needles in the patient’s body along acupuncture meridians. It will boost your immune system, which will help your body fight inflammation. It will also stimulate circulation in your body and help you relax. People commonly use acupuncture for pain relief from a wide range of medical conditions.
