The traditional lobsters are more difficult to eat than the lobster tails which are not only easier to cook are much tastier to eat. The lobsters when cooked on the grill spread an amazing aroma and have this heavenly smoky distinctive taste. The best lobster tails to grill are Caribbean and Florida lobsters. Crustacean’s big claws which are in the front are very tasty they have more meat on them then the Maine lobster tail though tasty but have less meat on them.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Depending on which lobster you are using you will have to prepare your lobster accordingly. If it is the whole lobster than take a pan with water and submerge your lobster in it to kill it and keep boiling it for at least eight minutes. If the lobsters tails are frozen then submerge the plastic bag with the frozen lobsters in it in hot water to thaw make sure the bag is properly sealed and is totally submerged in water.
  2. Now take out the lobster tails and place it on your chopping board shell-side down. Using the kitchen shears or a sharp knife cut of the tails half lengthwise. Don’t make the cut all the way through instead just cut and spread open…
  3. Soak a wooden skewer in water and insert it through the meat of the lobster tail. It prevents it to shrivel on the grill.
  4. Prepare whichever grills you are using if it is the gas grill preheat it or if you plan to use the charcoal grill then prep it. The grill should be cleaned well and then oiled so that the meat doesn’t stick to it. Medium heat should be used for the gas grill. Always remember to check whether the coals are evenly distributed in the charcoal grill as it would avoid hot spots.
  5. Season the lobster during the time the grill takes to heat and reach the right temperature. The tails can be either seasoned by pepper and salt or you can melt the butter in the microwave and season it with juice of lemon, a garlic clove and some fresh dill. Now cover the lobster tails with the seasoned butter liberally.
  6. Now place the lobster tails seasoned with butter on the hot grill the flesh side should be facing the grill. Be careful for flare ups if you are using the seasoned butter as it may drip. Flesh side down grills it for five to six minutes. Now turn the lobster tails so that on the grill grate is the shell side.
  7. Take out the lobster tails from the grill and apply butter. Let the lobsters cool a bit before you serve them.
